"Exploring the Art of Game Development and Self-Expression with Mentor Salvation Rushdan"

As the summer sun graces us with its warmth, CODE313 has been buzzing with the energy of young minds eager to dive into the world of S.T.E.A.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics). Among our standout mentors is Salvation Rushdan, an exceptional S.T.E.A.M. Engineer Instructor who has been a driving force in shaping the summer experience for our youth.

Hello, everyone! My name is Sal, and I'm thrilled to be one of the mentors here at CODE313’s summer camp. Over the past few weeks, I’ve had the pleasure of guiding students through the thrilling realms of game development, Virtual Reality (VR), and Augmented Reality (AR). For me, this journey has been all about games—how they’re made, how they’re experienced, and most importantly, how they’re personalized by those who create them.

One of the highlights of my role is witnessing the incredible ways students put their own spin on the projects. I believe that education isn’t just about following a set path but about finding and solving problems through the unique perspectives of each student. That’s why I emphasize self-expression in every lesson. Rather than imposing a rigid objective, I encourage students to inject their personalities and creativity into their work. This approach not only makes learning more engaging but also helps students develop a deeper connection with the material.

As we near the end of this summer camp, I’m excited about a special project we’re planning. While the details are still in the works, I’m envisioning a collaborative effort where we build a game together. The idea of creating a fighting game is on the table, and I think it would be a fantastic way for the students to channel their skills and imaginations into something tangible and fun.

The process of seeing students take ownership of their projects and watching their ideas come to life has been incredibly rewarding. Each student brings a fresh perspective, and their enthusiasm for game development, VR, and AR is truly inspiring. By the end of the camp, I hope they not only have a finished game to be proud of but also a lasting sense of accomplishment and confidence in their abilities.

Thank you for joining us on this exciting journey. Stay tuned as we continue to make magic happen at CODE313, one game at a time!
